Aug 17 (Reuters) – EyePoint said on Monday its experimental eye drug failed to meet its main goal in a late-stage trial.
The company was testing the drug, Duravyu, against a standard treatment, aflibercept, in patients with wet age-related macular degeneration, a leading cause of vision loss.
EyePoint said the trial missed its target of improving vision across the entire study group because results were skewed by a small group of patients.
Trading in shares of EyePoint was halted in premarket trading.
