LANSING, MI — Mid-Michigan is usually good for several heat waves each summer and here comes the first one. Extreme heat warnings have been issues for all of the area with temperatures this week running into the 90s and feels like heat over 100.
Here’s a statement from the National Weather Service: Heat index values could spike to over 105°F in the afternoons and evenings this week due to a combination of hot temperatures and high humidity.
Given this extended period of extreme temperatures, precautions should be taken to prevent Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke.
Some relief will arrive by the weekend with temps back in the 80s across the state.
