EAST LANSING, MI — A Michigan State University Police captain has been arrested.
Valerie O’Brien was incarcerated at the Ingham County Jail in Mason on Thursday, according to WILX-TV 10 in Lansing. That information was confirmed by the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office.
No specific charges were listed on the jail’s website and O’brien was released from jail by Thursday evening. Ingham County Sheriff Scott Wrigglesworth told the TV station O’Brien has yet to be arraigned.
O’Brien is the former Assistant Chief of the MSUPD. However, she was demoted from that position last year after spending more than 12 months on paid administrative leave from the department.
