TAMPA, FL (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Red Wings have a rematch with the Lightning in Tampa Bay tonight. Detroit was crushed 5-1 by the Lightning Wednesday.
The Red Wings are 2-7-and-2 on the season.
The Avalanche won’t be on the ice for the next week. Colorado has had its games postponed through February 11 as a result of COVID-19 protocols. The team’s training facilities have been closed until further notice.
The Avalanche last played Tuesday night at home against the Minnesota Wild, who have since shut down as a result of multiple players being put on the COVID-19 list.
The NHL is tightening up its COVID-19 protocols after several teams have paused their seasons due to outbreaks. Deputy commissioner Bill Daly says the league will remove the glass behind the team’s benches to help with airflow. Other changes include virtual meetings, adjusting the arrival time before games, and expanded locker room space to help assist in social distancing.
This comes after the Devils, Sabres, Avalanche and Wild all had to pause their seasons and postpone multiple games due to COVID-19.
