Description:
</p>
<p>
Okay, this place is awesome. Honestly after only going once
I won’t be able to give you all the details, but I’ll try my best. One Well
Brewing is kind of tucked away in a business strip on Portage Street so you can
easily miss it, and the outside may make it look not as exciting as you think,
but trust me, it’s worth it.
</p>
<p>
We were super confused and almost overwhelmed when we walked
in. At first we didn’t realize that it’s almost a free-for-all so to say, sit
where you’d like, order at the counter, play pinball, watch your kids in the
children’s area, play board games, sit at the bar, etc. Once we finally took it all in we realized
how perfect of a hangout spot this place really is.
</p>
<p>
I started with a mango cider which was delicious, but not as
“mango-y” as I expected. I wanted to try everything on the menu (because I’ve
never really heard of a coffee cider before) but seeing that it was a Monday
night, I knew I couldn’t get too excited. We decided to be a little fancier and
started out with the “Executive Dishwasher’s Board” herbivore style, which
pretty much just means it’s a cheese board with no meat (cheese, nuts, jam,
pickled veggies, etc.). It was so delicious. Maybe not worth the $15 because it
didn’t have any meat (you can get it with meat though) but I still enjoyed it.
</p>
<p>
For my meal I got the “Veggin’ Out” (which I ended up taking
all of it home because I filled up on cheese). Their menu states that it’s a “Quesadilla
stuffed with a medley of zucchini, summer squash, eggplant, roasted red pepper,
spinach, avocado, goat cheese, mozzarella. Served with tortilla chips and
salsa.” You can also get it with your choice of protein, which I tried a vegan substitute
which tasted exactly like chicken BUT IT WASN’T CHICKEN. It was both
mind-blowing and delicious. Also all of their food options have very witty names like "Go Cluck Yourself," "The Grilled Cheese Incident," "Meat me in the Middle," etc.
</p>
<p>
What I loved most about One Well was the atmosphere. There
is a massive wall of board games that you can take out and play, a full wall of
pinball machines, and it really has a feel like, “make yourself at home, help
yourself.” It was confusing at first but once we settled in it was a very cool
place.
</p>
<p>
Overall I only touched the surface of this brewery. They
have tons of events, pinball tournaments, specials, etc. that I could go on for
days for. I can see this being a place I always come back to. If you’re looking
for a fun, laid back spot to take some visiting friends to, go to One Well
Brewing.
