Description:
If you’re looking for a chill
place to hang out and grab some good food and a craft beer along the Kalamazoo
Mall, Central City Tap House is a nice place to check out. I walked there from
downtown (so I cannot speak about parking) and sat outside on their cute little
patio.
First off, be sure to check out
their website before you go because they have a TON of weekday specials, happy
hour deals, Sunday brunch, trivia night, whiskey Wednesdays, etc. I think one
of their best deals is their lunch special: all you can eat pizza, soup, and
salad bar Monday-Friday from 11am-2pm for only $8.95. That my friends is an
awesome deal.
I’ve heard good things about
their wood fired pizzas but I was in a sandwich mood. For my vegetarian friends
I had the Portobello and Swiss sandwich (marinated and grilled Portobello,
roasted red pepper, caramelized onion, Swiss, arugula, tomato, and rye bread).
It was very delicious and even better with a little ranch (sorry I’m a huge ranch-on-everything
fan) and their salt and pepper chips. My friend got the Chicago dogs which was
a ton of food for a good price. Definitely want to go back to try their
different pizzas, or even the vegan jackfruit tacos. They have a really good
variety to their menu.
I almost felt bad just getting a
Vandermill can to drink. Probably should’ve stepped out of my comfort zone and
tried something new and exciting. Central City Tap House has a ton of specialty
craft cocktails, among other craft bottles, cans, wine, etc.
Overall it’s a cool, chill place
for some good non-greasy pub-like food. They have some great specials
practically every day and late night hours with off wood fired pizzas from
9pm-close. Open Mon-Thurs 11am-11pm, Fri-Sat 11am-1am, and Sun 10:30am-10pm. No
gimmicks. Just good fun, friendly staff, money-saving deals, and a nice
atmosphere.
