EAST LANSING, MI — The performance didn’t delight MSU head coach Tom Izzo, but nevertheless the Spartans beat Colgate at Breslin Center on Monday night 80-69.
Four players scored in double figures for the green and white, lead by Jaxon Kohler with 16 points. It was a double-double for the senior center as he recorded 15 rebounds in the win. Redshirt sophomore Jeremy Fears also had a double-double with 14 points and 10 assists.
Izzo voiced displeasure after the game with the Spartan effort. The veteran coach said it took too long for the Spartans to get going against an inferior opponent in the 11 point win. Michigan State continues its season-opening homestand on Saturday, Nov. 8, hosting Arkansas at the Breslin Center. The game tips off at 7 p.m. on FOX.
