CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A man from suburban Detroit has been charged in a disturbing case involving the death of his girlfriend several months ago.
37-year-old Matthew Lewinski reportedly lived with the mutilated corpse of Jerri Winters for more than seven months and has been charged in her death.
Lewinski faces charges of first-degree murder, disinterment, and mutilation of a body, and concealing the death of an individual according to the Macomb County prosecutor’s office.
The woman’s body was discovered in the basement of the home in Clinton Township last week. Prosecutors said she was killed at the house in December and that her body had been moved to the basement. They did not explain how she was killed.
