LANSING, MI — The Michigan High School Athletic Association is allowing high school football this fall. The season has been reinstated as of Thursday after Governor Gretchen Whitmer lifted restrictions that had prevented games from being played.
High school football games in the area are expected to resume Sept. 18.
The governor says she is still recommending against playing, but that school districts will be responsible to putting health programs into place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The MHSAA says boys soccer and girls swimming and diving and volleyball can also resume next week.
