KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Police in Kalamazoo are investigating a shooting that left one victim injured Tuesday.
Around 11:30 a.m., officers were called to the scene at the intersection of Elm Street and Kalamazoo Avenue, where they located evidence of a shooting.
However, it was found that the victim had transported themself to a local hospital for medical treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses on scene reported hearing several shots being fired and observed seeing a silver SUV speeding out of the area, which is believed to be involved in the shooting.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) is continuing to investigate this incident.
This is the second shooting incident to occur this week, with the first occurring Monday. In that case, a teenager was shot at in the Edison neighborhood, but was able to escape unharmed.
