EAST LANSING, MI — Number-17 Michigan State erased a 15-point halftime deficit to win 79-71 at 20th-ranked Penn State.
Xavier Tillman led the Spartans with 23 points and 15 rebounds, Rocket Watts had 18 points and Cassius Winston added 14 points.
The win puts MSU in a tie for first place in the Big Ten with Maryland. Michigan State, 21-and-9 overall and 13-and-6 in the conference, wraps up the regular season against Ohio State Sunday at the Breslin Center. The Spartans can win the title outright with a win against the Buckeyes and a Maryland loss to Michigan this weekend.
